Bernhard joined the band in 2002 for the Egypt and West
Africa tour. He plays the drums while the previous drummer, Bernd Bechtloff,
now devotes himself to percussion.
Bernhard was born on 5th September 1971 and lives in Graz.
He began to play the drums at the age of 10. When he was 22 years old,
Bernhard spent several months in South America, where he worked with
the many styles and rhythms of Latin American music. As well as this,
Berhard studied jazz at the Musikhochschule in Graz, where he was taught
by Alex Deutsch.
In 1994, Bernhard had success with his own band, Sonic
Temple. He won the Styrian NZ band competition and concerts followed
all over Austria and even in London. Sonic Temple were also support for
names like Bob Dylan and 4 Non Blondes.
Tom Rohm and Bernhard met five years ago and Bernhard has
drummed for his band since that time. The band has quite an international
flavour - the band leader is from Germany and his group comes from the
USA, Slovenia and Austria. Their playlist consists of their own songs
as well as covers in the spirit of the sixties. In 1999 the band record
a CD called Guitar Generation. (www.tomrohm.com)
