2nd july 2007 - travelling downstream

Bavarian forest on the left bank, Austria to the right. then a lock and - just austria from then on. relief, it's somehow not a nice feeling to to be continually surrounded and observied by police. the innate reflex of rejecting anything in a uniform, which I thought I had overcome, has come open like an old wound. what's it going to be like in the east?

we're now going through linz, our "ideological" home port. we will carry on to wallsee, the nautical home port, where niko the captain will leave us and the new one, peter, will take over the helm. tomorrow morning we will harbour in Vienna, a last stashing away of fuel, food, water and spare parts for stage, equipment, ship etc. and Wednesday morning - off into the east, into the new, the unknown.
