5th july 2007 - evening

it's the evening and we have just cast off from the pontoon in budapest. budapest was a disappointment. in the morning at the pontoon where we were to dock, we were greeted by a hungarian with the words: "if you dock here, I'll break your teeth". actually it was all organised and agreed. we called the lifeguard service for help, who came along and clarified the matter, in which we were slapped with a docking fee of €2800.

i would like to have spoken about it at the press conference, but there was no press conference. first of all we discovered that our guest band "besh o drom" were out of the country and then that journalists here don't work past 3pm - the conference was to have been at 3pm. we cancelled it to spare our blushes. i can't hide my disappointment. our intention was just to give a free concert with a local band. and for it we are treated like undesired guests. it is not the europe i dream of - it is perhaps the europe of spongers and delimiters, but it is not mine. it is necessary to hold out against it, even it is tough.
