7.7.07 the holy number seven in the date three times.

heat, scorching heat. nonetheless we have a game of football on land before dinner. herbert and michael slam together in a header. herb’s nose absolutely refuses to stop bleeding. that and the pain makes him rather apathetic. anyone who knows herb knows that it must have caught him really badly. for he’s not squeamish at all. only two hours later is he halfway back to normal again. in the next few days he’s going to have a shiner around his left eye.

it’s 35ºC in the cabin – can’t think about sleep until the wee hours. what's it going to be like in bulgaria and romania? they currently have a heatwave there that has already killed more than 40 people. i pray it’s over by the time we get there. that’ll be in a week!
