Day X, the day of the first concert of the linz europe tour 2007.

hopefully it will all go well, hopefully everything will play out. we haven't had a rehearsal for three weeks (!) - hopefully there won't be a storm, hopefully it will be a nice day and a nice evening. Zdob si Zdub, the guest band from moldova, have arrived - as well as my friends from Ischl, the hohtraxlecker sprungschanzenmusi. full ship - watertight ship the first.

i was asleep when it happened. - what if i had been there?

After hours of preparation and meetings with numerous people I went to my cabin at 5pm to recharge for the evening.

at 6pm the storm struck for a second time and without warning, this time on an elevated stage, ready for the concert. The wind tore the side walls to shreds as soon as it hit. Hail stones and water swept through the superstructure, flooded the stage ankle-deep, penetrating electronics, amplifiers, instruments.

... those who were on stage saved what could be saved. They said they couldn't see further than two metres it was raining so much. In 15 minutes the spook was gone, everything was drenched and broken. we had to cancel the show. what a blow right at the start.
