"The most manifest sign of wisdom is continued cheerfulness"

i hear chiming. I have been awake for an
hour and am sitting by the window with my cup of tea. I look out
at the landscape, birds chirp, blue cloudy sky over the willows that
border the banks of the river.
late night, after the concert.
it was a chequered evening. today haindling were our guests on the ship,
we sang his "holzscheitlsräp" and the 3 brass musicians,
Reinhard, Michael and Markus played along during my "I
bi ån". all in all it was a great concert, we played well and the
audience was grateful too. thank god. because there were massive problems
with the sound system. that was partly long-term effects from the Viennese
storm, so that was residual moisture, but also because after two weeks
on board we still haven't found the time to finally calibrate the whole
system. there was no opportunity before Vienna and since then we have
been occupied with addressing the damage.
spani was devastated. hage too, who was outside, couldn't hide his disappointment.
on top of that there were problems with the police, who penalised our
captain because he fastened our ship to a tree with a rope instead of
an alternative, something that is forbidden in Bavaria.
To say nothing of the conservation people who during
the concert had their own music system playing on their information stand,
with "anastasia"
and similar.
nobody went to bed happy tonight.
