31st august - km 2000

7.30am sun! it has broken through and sunbeams fall into my cabin. the last day where we will be together. there's sure to be a hustle and bustle tomorrow in linz. I'm not thinking of the hohtraxlecker sprungschanznmusi and rambo's band, who are doing the last concert with us, but of the many friends and acquaintances, sponsors, enablers and media people too. it should be really good, but as we have often experienced, it's not down to us alone. thank god, you have to say, because the responsibility for our part is great enough. but I know from experience that it is more difficult to live this distanced, detached attitude at home than it is when far away. nevertheless I'm really looking forward to coming home. my six-metre-square cabin is sinking in chaos, partly because I've accumulated a lot – documents, presents from guests ..., but also because I've been remiss in keeping order the nearer we have come to the end. when I go down the corridor and look into my colleagues' cabins I see that it’s the same for everybody.
