ST. NICHOLAS CONCERT IN BAD ISCHL

Hubert von Goisern performs at the 11th St. Nicholas Concert in Bad Ischl

This year, the Bad Ischl Rotary Club's St. Nicholas Concert – a popular fixture in Bad Ischl's event calendar for 12 years – went ahead in a special form this year, due to the countrywide lockdown in Austria. Without an audience present, the concert in the Stadtpfarrkirche was recorded by Ischl TV and the Bad Ischl Rotary Club for viewers at home.

In the line-up were not just regular musical guests from the Bürgerkapelle Bad Ischl, in a small formation, but also the music duo Mexstanzl, two talented students from the musical instrument building department of the HTBLA Hallstatt.

Hubert von Goisern performed as star guest with Martin Neureiter. On this festive evening, there was more than just music and singing to be heard from Hubert. The online audience is also treated to his reading of a personal Christmas story, which he penned himself.

As always, the proceeds from the event will be used by the Rotary Club to help those in need in the region. This year, women and children threatened by domestic abuse will be supported. Domestic violence is still a taboo subject, which is sadly very topical and can affect people from all walks of life. The Inner Salzkammergut Women's Advice Centre, an established and well-regarded institution, will assist in the implementation of this support.
