Barbara Stöckl talks to Hubert von Goisern and Prof. Heinz Nußbaumer

A close friendship connects musician Hubert von Goisern and established journalist Heinz Nußbaumer. The two men are Barbara Stöckl's guests on Stöckl on Thursday 31 August 2023 at 23.05 on ORF 2.

"My brotherly friend", Hubert von Goisern says of Heinz Nußbaumer. The musician and journalist first met each other about 20 years ago: "It's a rare gift to gain a true new friend as an adult", says Heinz Nußbaumer, who celebrated his 80th birthday on 16 July. What connects him with Hubert von Goisern, ten years his junior, is spirituality, a passion for travel and an interest in politics.

As both a journalist and spokesperson for Presidents Kurt Waldheim and Thomas Klestil, Heinz Nußbaumer has met powerful figures from around the world and has witnessed many historic events. It is these experiences his friend has had that particularly interest the politically-engaged Hubert von Goisern. In conversation with Barbara Stöckl the pair also talk about their shared personal experiences – such as an adventurous canoe ride on the Traun.
